The Spectra laser is capable of producing four wavelengths to accommodate different skin types and conditions. The Spectra laser photo-mechanically removes epidermal and dermal pigmented lesions, and all types of colors in tattoos. This laser can significantly lighten or with certain patients remove tattoos without harming surrounding healthy cells. When particles of tattoo ink absorb the laser light, they are broken into tiny fragments, which are absorbed through the body’s natural cleansing mechanism.
The Spectra laser is also ideally suited for the newest application in non-ablative skin rejuvination. This creates a photothermal effect in the skin and stimulates skin cell regeneration. With the Spectra Peel, patients can experience reduced pores, improve skin conditions against acne, imrpoved sebum production and reduced redness from inflamed acne with painless, digital precision.
Spectra’s short pulse width ranges in 5 to 10 nanosecond (billionth of a second) in the Q-switched mode. Combined with high peak power, it allows efficient destruction of the target pigment with minimal collateral thermal damage, meeting the criteria of selective photo-thermolysis; making it one of the most technologically advanced laser to treat dermal and epidermal pigmented lesions. As a result, Spectra is one of very few laser systems out in the market to have received a FDA clearance for the treatment of melasma (one of most difficult pigmentary issues to treat). In addition, with four distinct Q-switched mode wavelength (1064nm, 532nm, 585nm, 650nm), Spectra has the versatility to treat wide range of tattoo colors.
What makes Lutronic Spectra really stand out is that it was the first Q-switched laser to introduce “Dual- pulsed” mode where in addition to the Q-switched mode, a “Spectra” (quasi-long 300 microsecond) mode was introduced to allow more versatile laser toning as well as non-ablative skin rejuvenation, better known as “Hollywood” Spectra peel. The protocol for dual pulsed Spectra Hollywood Peel involves:
Skin rejuvenation with the Spectra Peel is fast – a whole face takes less than ten minutes. It is also painless, leaving the patient with a beautiful glow.
The versatile Spectra can also be used to perform the laser toning procedures. This non-ablative procedure consistently delivers impressive results for the treatment of many types of pigmented lesions, with minimal discomfort to the patient and short recovery time.
Usually 3 to 5 treatments spaced 2 to 4 weeks apart for optimal improvement. Many patients opt for maintenance package which can vary depending on conditions being treated.
